MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to spread joy, empowerment, self-acceptance, and mental health awareness through music and social media in order to have fun and feel like we are positively impacting the world.
INCLUSIVITY STATEMENT:
CLINICALLY OBLIVIOUS is committed to cultivating a community where people from all walks of life feel welcome and safe.
Clinically Oblivious is a quirky and dynamic group of moms who, despite their busy and varied careers, have found a common passion in making music together. The band is made up an accountant, a scientist, and a librarian. Each of them leads a full, demanding life, balancing their professional roles, family responsibilities, and personal interests. They come together for fun and creative expression through music.
Dawn is originally from Massachusetts but spent the majority of her formative years in south central Wisconsin. After high school, she spent 10 years in California where she enjoyed rock climbing, river rafting, caving, and kayaking before returning to Wisconsin to settle down. When she's not pursuing one of her 1003 random hobbies, you can find her making music.
Dawn played percussion in junior high and saxophone throughout high school. She now also enjoys playing guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano. Dawn likes music that evokes emotion, tells a story, and moves you forward.
Sunny, the dynamic keyboardist of Clinically Oblivious, is a whirlwind of energy. By day, she's a dedicated scientist, seeking cures for cancer and other diseases with the same passion she brings to her music. When she's not developing new therapies or on stage, Sunny enjoys crocheting intricate designs and knitting soft cozies, finding a different kind of rhythm in yarn, hooks, and needles. As a mom, she balances her busy life with grace, always smiling and spreading her glowing personality to everyone around her.
Sunny is also a committed volunteer for the Girl Scouts, embodying her beliefs in inclusivity and positivity. She champions the idea that women can accomplish anything. A lover of books and geeky strategy board games, Sunny is an active member of a book and game club. She’s huge fan of Wisconsin Badgers women’s volleyball and hockey, bringing the same enthusiasm to the stands as she does to her music. An indie and alternative rock music lover, she shreds on the keyboard, infusing the band's sound with her unique flair.
